Restoring Fiscal Discipline. Preserving Our Safety. Investing in Irvine's Future.
I'm Steven Alves, and I'm running for City Council to bring practical, community-first leadership back to District 5.

Irvine needs a course correction. I am ready to help deliver it.
I am a District 5 neighbor who has called Woodbridge home for more than 30 years, watched my own kids grow up in these schools, and spent 15 years as a Scouts volunteer working alongside families across this community. Over the past 18 months, I've served as Chief of Staff to Vice Mayor James Mai — working hands-on inside City Hall to help drive decisions forward, while gaining firsthand insight into the tough tradeoffs Irvine faces on fiscal policy, growth, and keeping the city well-maintained.
Irvine is facing real challenges right now. A growing budget deficit, rising costs that threaten our fiscal stability, and a city government that has drifted from the discipline that built our reputation. District 5 deserves a council member who is focused on local issues, has spent decades building trust in this community, and has the experience to protect what makes Irvine work — starting with our finances and our safety.
